Sleeping Style

For the past 2 months Keith have been following us to work and since Grandma have come back from Penang, she had helped us by caring for Keith there. We have decided to temporarily let Grandma and Keith to tag along to our workplace so that Keith would get use to Grandma. Keith has gotten more attached to Elaine and I since Grandma has gone back to Penang.

I felt sorry that I was not able to provide Keith with a much better environment. This is only a temporary measure because in time Grandma and Keith would go back home in the evening with my sis. By the way, my sis is now working in KL as a CSE in a company close by and we were all rather surprised because the company pays well too (I knew because Elaine scouted the job for her)

Initially Keith have had a very hard time trying to sleep in our workplace but for the past month he have adjusted to the noises. Lately he is able to sleep even longer hours compared to what he used to at home. Luckily our stroller is much more bigger size, if not I doubt he would be able to do his ususal twist and turn while he sleeps.

This is one of the funny position I found him in.

For those whom are afraid that he would suffocate, Grandma is keeping a close eye on him all the time.

Keith is 11 months old

I have not been updating my blog as often recently and I actually scratched my head for a post then a look at the calender I realised that today Keith is 11 months old. Wow, now I have to really look into ordering his birthday cake, which I have been doing for the last few months but was not able to decide upon which one.

This was taken when I took him out to a hypermarket nearby our restaurant.

Statistics
Height - ??
Weight - ??
(We missed his last appointment and we have decided to take him to see the doctor when he is due for his next jab.

Diet
His milk intake is still the same at 5.5-6oz of BM in addition to his 2 meals of solid. Mummy's worry is her expressed milk is getting less by the day.
Right now he is practically eating everything except eggs, banana and spicy stuffs (I guess this will be the last month that we will observe what Grandma advised us not to give him until he is one) His favourite is whatever we are having for our meal.

Sleep
He has been sleeping with us for almost a months now. The good news is he is able to sleep through the night in his cot. Yesterday was so funny that I found him sleeping reversed from when we initially have him sleep, with his legs on his pillow sleeping. Once in a while he will whine for attention and take a peek to see if anyone is attending to him or whenever we move him to a better sleeping position.

Teeth
He still has 8 teeth and would gnaw and lick on almost everything you give him, especially human fingers!!! I have been guessing that he is probably teething again but I fail to detect any newer teeth.

Verbal
He still "baby babble sing" as he is about to fall asleep. He is able to say "mama" "ama" "papa" "apa" more clearly but to date he is still unable to address me or Elaine. As for food he is able to say "umm!"

Mobility
He is crawling unsteadily, probably we do not give him enough time on his own to crawl. He is able to stand on his own for minutes now and he even pushes our hands away to let him stand on his own. He is even able to clap his hands while standing up. Today Aunt May tried to let him walk on his own, when Grandma informed us all that he is able to walk with a little assistance. They tried to let him walk with both hands behind him to catch him just as he is unsteady. Sadly Aunt May was only successful for the first few times. Upon seeing that Elaine told her to move him to a wider space so that she can record it down, on the first try she failed to catch Keith and he fell for the first time.

Others

  • For some reason he likes us to let him stand unassisted and sing "Happy Birthday" for him while he claps his hand.
  • He likes to hold onto my ear lobes with his left hand and sometimes poke the end with his right index finger. (my sis have had the same habit when she was small and then it was Grandma's ear she held onto)
  • For now I am on top of his preference list of person to carry him, then comes Mummy, PoPo, Jiu-Jiu (Uncle Jason). He also tends to prefer someone who stands up than someone whom is sitting down.
  • He likes to point at things with his index fingers.
  • He is also able to respond very well to "tim choong-choong" and "clap-clap hand"
  • I do realise that he is extremely ticklish.

I am stuck without a laptop

On Thursday I was hit by real bad luck that someone spilled hot chocolate on my one and a half year old laptop. Those of you whom have known me would have known that this is not the first time I have liquid spilled on my lappie, as you all know where I work, but the last time it was really minor spilled that can be easily be wiped down.

This time the spill was really horrible, that when the technician came on Friday, he told me that he needed to replace the motherboard along with the touch pad, keyboard and the combo drive. He even advised me not to switch it on because he was afraid that the board would short-circuit. So I will have to wait for all the parts to arrive and let him fix it on Monday. Guess I will be stuck without a laptop at work.

So you all won't be seeing me until Wednesday, I guess but I would be online when I get home.

The good news is I am really lucky that I was the "kiase" type and have bought their Complete Cover so accidental damages are covered.

Last week Keith and I went over to the Hypermarket near our restaurant and one of the promoter at the disposable diapers played with Keith and she gave him this headgear to wear. It was really nice of her to give although we didn't purchase anything from her or the hypermarket. The headgear is supposed to be a free gift for the purchase of each Sealer disposable diapers

I know that cows are supposed to be herbivore but I think this look is very carnivorous.

As usual this headgear didn't last too long on his head but at least it lasted longer than Yong Jin whom have the same headgear too.

Keith's New Toy

Elaine decided it is time to get Keith a new walker because he has almost outgrew his old walker. We bought him the Stride to Ride Walker which he liked instantly when we started to unpack it but like all other toys he have, none can last him more than 5 minutes.

He might looked rather happy in the pictures below but when I opened up the seat and it turns into a walker but he would start to turn back to me to carry him.

It is really a great toy but for now Keith would need extra attention using it because we fear that he would fall backwards because he have the sudden tendency to lean backwards or even look upwards

Keith with a funnel

Last Monday our water supply was affected by a pipe burst near to the Pearl Point area. We were informed that the water supply would only be back to normal by 8pm so I have to drive back to my condominium to fill up eight 25 litre water containers with filtered water.

So I drove back and had Keith tagged along with the maid. For the fun of it I had Keith sat on the front seat with a pillow as a booster and buckled him up (all this were done while the car was stationary)

He only sat quietly for a little while but as soon as he got hold of the funnel which I had brought along (with the intend to use it to funnel water into the containers but in the end I didn't use because the opening of the containers were big enough)

He have used the funnel as a speaker as well as to chew on it too

After half an hour, after we arrive at our shop with the water, the water supply was back to normal at 5.30pm

Keith's new teether

Recently with grandma back in Penang, Keith has been following us to work everyday. Although he looks happier because he can be with Elaine and I but deep inside I felt rather guilty because I was not able to come up with a much better way to care for him. Having him in the restaurant is very pleasing for all of us because he can really cheer us up. What makes it so hard is when we got really busy and there is no one there to attend to him. We would normally leave him buckled up to the high chair close to the cashier so that Elaine and I can keep our eyes on him, while we put some toys/spoons/books for him.

But whenever he gets bored with his toys he would start whining for us to carry him.

Then one day his Po Po brought Yong Jin over to the restaurant because she intended to take him to see the paed because he was having fever and along the way she had bought him a toy balloon. Upon reaching our shop Keith got all excited when he saw the balloon so Po Po talked to Yong Jin to give it to Keith and took him to buy another.

And as soon as the balloon reaches Keith's hands it goes straight into his mouth, although we have left two teethers in front of him

And of course the next thing he will do is to start chewing on it!!! Since everyone found it hilarious, it is natural that I recorded it down in video.

My site got hijacked!!!!

In this Box is supposed to be a pic. Refresh or click here for a bigger pic
I guess the above had looked familiar to a few now. I hope I got the term "hijack" correct because they were diverting people away from my site. My sincerest apologies for not looking into this problem earlier. I have not been coming to my own blog bacause I normally track your comments via e-mail. I found it a little peculiar when I went blog hopping to a few blogs but didn't really see into the problem because I thought the problem lies in my browser until I saw it being highlighted in LYN (Lowyat.NET).

The culprit has Advertlets.com because they forgot to renew the domain name and seems like their domain got renewed by adbaaz.com instead so all our traffic got transferred to their site whenever the Adverlets badge tried to load on our blog

What we have to do is remove the HTML provided by Adverlets.com from our page element (under Template Tab) to solve the problem because if we don't it would definitely affect our traffic.
