Buffet at Jogoya

As promised, I have managed to post up this one after spending quite a while. I hope you all would understand my situation. I write my posts whenever I can spare the time while working in the restaurant, which is very tough because I am the one who makes the drinks and laptop & water doesn't go along very well.

You must be thinking that I would be showing you with a lot of food pictures, if you are then you have my apologies. That night was a rather eventful night for all of us. As too many things have happened but I will just briefly narrate the pictures.

After we were guided to our table, which was the same table that we sat the last time, all the adults, including Elaine, got themselves rather busy locating the food, with all the clips taken too. I was left to care for the 2 kids, Yong Jin and Keith

Keith was relaxing on the baby carrier

And Yong Jin got busy imitating a drummer with the chopsticks

The first adults to come back to the table was Aunty May and her husband, of course they started eating too and Yong Jin stopped drumming as well :P

Then Elaine came back with some food too and she insisted she wanted to try putting Keith on the baby chair.

In the end she decided to let Keith sit on the baby carrier and she went to get more stuffs off the buffet. Next to come back to the table was Grandma, who got herself a plate full of scallops (those with shells on)

Last but not least came Uncle Jason and his girlfriend (wife to-be soon)

After they finished their first round of meal, they took turns to carry Keith, giving Elaine and I some opportunity to gobble down some of the goodies :P

At that point of time, Yong Jin was chowing down some fruits already. I think his parents are already on their 3rd round :P

Then suddenly Keith whined and after a few minutes he vomitted. Funny thing was he was smiling while Elaine was busy changing his clothes.

As a complimentary we were given a birthday cake but was informed twice that we are not allowed to take it back.

Then comes the birthday song, with Yong Jin getting all excited and clapping along because that is his favourite song

Before the candle is blown, someone took a cherry out, which he aimed at for quite a long time.

Ummm..... Tasty!!!!

This is how the cake looked like after having the cherry taken. I wonder why the birthday boy(uncle) doesn't want to blow the candle leh?

Now everyone wanted to take more pictures with the cake. It is so hard to get everyone to co-operate to look at the camera all at the same time :(

Like Keith whom suddenly burst out his cries

And on the other side Yong Jin was playing fish with his mummy with his grandma carrying him and holding his hands too.

Another look at the cake, see how short the candle have gotten and still the birthday boy is yet to blow it. Btw, did u notice that 3 cherries are missing already.

When he settled down and was about to blow his candle, we realise that we were not given a knife to cut the cake :P

But anyway he went ahead to blow his candle but not without any help. In fact it is not one whom helped but two.

After blowing the cake, nobody seem interested in eating the cake as there is much more better selection on the buffet. Even Keith wanted some from the buffet. Look how he kept staring at the cakes
In this Box is supposed to be a pic. Refresh or click here for a bigger pic

He even tried to grab the cakes too

Upon returning to the table, this is what I saw happened to the birthday cake.
There was a video taken too, might upload that if I've got the time

After eating such a BIG cake, he did some exercises and showed us some of his kungfu moves

Last but not least, this is the picture of the mess we left. Of course there would be more if the waitstaff have not clear the plates as we finished our food

Sadly I realised that I was the only one without a picture taken that night :(

Sneak Peak

I am just gonna post a very short one today as I am gonna work on what we did last night and I will just wanna show you a little of what I am gonna work on :D

In this Box is supposed to be a pic. Refresh or click here for a bigger pic

The reason for the delay is because we took 2GB+ of pictures and videos. I only have a 512MB card so luckily I was prepared, I took along my laptop :P

And this is what we had last night :) - As mentioned before in my earlier post, it was my BIL's treat, which he insisted on paying for all of us.

Going to Ipoh again tonight (part II)

Seems like there is many (part II)s recently in my blog, huh?

In this Box is supposed to be a pic. Refresh or click here for a bigger pic
Well this is how would 72cubes of "chou dau fu" looks like the tofu, which I transported to Ipoh for my sis on Thursday night. Phew! my bonnet smells like ...... $#1T

Anyway my BIL bought it for me and, as soon as he brought it to the kitchen, one of our staff shouted

The staff: "WHAT IS THAT SMELL!!!!! SMELLS LIKE $#1T!!!!!"
Luckily that time was the slow period in the restaurant.
My SIL: "It's only Chou Dau Fu la"
The staff: "How come you people put something that smells as awful as that into your b1@rdy mouth one?"
Hahahaha....... he was very shock at the number of tofu we bought in total - 100 cubes :)

Reached Ipoh at about 1am and we moved stuffs from my sis's MPV, a Chevy Nabira to my small City, luckily mine have the ultra seat so we manage to squeeze in more stuffs on the passenger side as the bonnet was totally full. We reached home at about 3.30am with Keith and Nicole slept all the way. As soon as we arrive Keith was already crying for his milk. But when Elaine fed him his bottle he wouldn't want to take it. Now Elaine is scared that Keith is no longer attached to her, guess he is more attached to grandma.

I also notice that Nicole is a little more quiet (but she still shouts once in a while!) But I do realise that she is also responding more to my resquests too.

This is how our boy looked like the next day.

We have decided to shave his head this coming Tuesday!!!!!

Also during this preiod of time, I am truly thankful for all the support I got from Elaine, my mum, my sis, Melinda and my uncle(舅父) and his wife(舅母) and also those whom have help me indirectly. I truly appreciate all that you have done for me, in this time of such desperation.

Sweet Deli Station 想食啲 (part II)

Firstly I would like to thank you all for the compliments :)

I will start off by refering to one of the comments on the earlier post

Thanks to the comment by vien regarding parking problem here. I will share with you all on where to park your cars if you could not find a spot :)
The first option would be parking into the Central Hypermarket basement and they charge RM0.50/hour (the same rate as parking on the roadside and they close at 10pm) and you are entitle for a 2 hour free parking if you purchase anything above RM20 from Central Hypermarket (sometimes they offer stuffs cheaper than others) But for this option you might have to walk a bit and also smelly too (for some) because of the concept of the building....... They have stalls selling vegetables, fruits, meat and even fish! To some it might look a bit rundown too :(
Second option is parking a flat fee of RM2 open parking also owned by Lucky Plaza (Central) to enter this parking will be the one just before the building itself (But be sure to check the trees for birds, if you are directed to park under one - I don't think you wanna go back to a car full of bird poo)
Other than that it will be the Parkson (Giant and Citrus Park is also located there)
Parking here is definitely a big problem, if you are able to get one then you are very lucky. Normally the road got jammed up because of double parking and cars slowing down to look for a parking space. Even if you did manage to find a place, sometimes you get cars double parking next to you and will have you honking your horn for an hour when you wanna leave :P

Now back to the next introduction of the rice, noodle and drinks variety.
(The following are 16 thumbnail pictures of each category)

Please don't hesitate to contact me for further details.....

So sorry duckie my Penang relatives also asked me of the same thing :( As for opening a branch, it is not an easy task. Furthermore, we are short-staffed because all the food and beverages are prepared by the sifus themselves.

Sweet Deli Station 想食啲

Firstly I'd like to thank Jazzmint for featuring my Mango Fettucini in her blog :P felt so "pai seh" la

Well, I guess I might as well introduced my small restaurant to you all, since most of my relatives and friends are yet to visit me, I might as well take this opportunity introduce it here.

Me and my partners open up the restaurant 2 years back (Not really my restaurant la) and it is restaurant with 40+ seat (very small indeed) It is called Sweet Deli Station 想食啲 (Pronounced as "Siong Sek Dit)

This is the image of the name card:

Directions to the restaurant:

I think we have too many stuffs on our menu that I find it rather hard to introduce it because most of the stuffs we really like so we made it lo. I will just feature the stuffs on thumbnails. Also very hard to explain one by one too :P too lazy la but gimme some time....... I will try :)

First of all would be the 糖水(tong sui)
In this Box is supposed to be a pic. Refresh or click here for a bigger pic
I would recommend the Sesame and Peanut because these are not those instant type, the dessert chef actually roast and grind the actual thing.
**Sorry to those Bubur Chacha fans, we no longer carry this item (I liked Bubur Chacha too!) but I am not the one in charge of the kitchen (My area would be the drinks, non-alcoholic, of course!)

Now some of the desserts, double-boiled tong sui and appetizers

More on part 2

Pst! Those looking for the chow tau fu. it is from a stall featured here and here, not from my restaurant :P

The 臭豆腐 "Chou To Fu" Again

Yesterday, After Elaine and I went to have her stitches taken off, mum and I went to Loh Tat Pit (pornounced as "Loh Tit Pat") for the Chinese Astrology calculation for baby's name (for RM70). Will update on the names he have given later. Funny because Elaine and I are in a dilemma because the BM Ah Ko told us that baby is to avoid water (needed fire) but the Loh Tat Pit is telling us that baby have too much fire and his name needed water :( Really confused..... now need to go to at least another one to confirm which one is right...... Sad thing if that person mention another element then we sure KO one :P

Well, this is the first Tuesday that the "Chou To Fu" start business after Chinese New Year. I did snap some pictures of the queue but forgot to snap the picture of the tofu we bought (Fear not, my mum is really missing the tofu so much, I predict that she will be going back to buy some next week too. Too bad, my sis, you came at the wrong time)....... So sorry I was rather tired yesterday. Needed to take care of baby for 2 nights already (Baby seems to bully Elaine, he would be very fussy when Elaine is feeding him but with me or grandma feeding he is much more ok)

The spyshot I took when everyone is not looking. Sorry for the bad exposure.(I have to take care of Nicole whom is running to and fro the pavement, perhaps she is looking for a way to go to her grandma) The queue is already a shorter queue compared to my earlier described one. That is why my mum gets to queue up to buy it :P

This is my description of it.
The yellow arrow are highlighting those whom are eating on the spot.(In front of them is actually a drain!)
Red is the queue and the blue is pointing at my mom :P

P/S- If it rains, people would still queue up with umbrellas. Unless if it is too heavy then they will drive up and order :P (ala McDonald's drive-thru style)

The 臭豆腐 "Chou To Fu"

I manage to scan the partially torn 臭豆腐 "Chou To Fu" leaflet and this is the result after I worked on it with photoshop. I know my knowledge of photoshop is still very shallow. Least I am still learning......... anyone care to share their advice on how to make it better?
In this Box is supposed to be a pic. Refresh or click here for a bigger pic

Their ChouToFu is so good that people will queue up in a very long line for their Smelly ToFu, even after they increase their price from RM2.00/each to RM2.40/each. I'll snap some pictures if my mum want to buy some this week :P She is their faithful fan. Elaine do not want any of it because she don't want a smelly baby :)
