My new handphone

I have bought myself a new handphone lately because my old Nokia has been bugging me with quite a number of problems. I have many customers complaining to me that they cannot call me when my phone is actually switched on with full signal bar. Rubbing salt onto my wound, surprisingly Maxis doesn't SMS me back about my missed calls too.

When I am on the line with a customer, I keep getting dropped calls. Initially I thought all this problem was from Maxis but then I tried to use an old handphone and it worked fine without any problem. I wanted to continue using the line with that phone but Elaine wanted to use that phone instead. I ended up having to get a new phone.

After much looking around and many rounds of trips to Low Yat and Sg Wang, in the end I have decided to get myself a Sony Ericsson G900

Although the phone that I am buying is already past the promotion period, I still got the free SE Bluetooth headset as well as the 2GB M2 card although it is no longer stated on the box :D

I really liked the phone, especially the touchscreen and best of all the response time is rather fast compared to my N73ME. As for the N73ME, I am passing it over to my mom because she has always bugged me that my sister's Samsung phone is too soft for her. Hope she can bear with the slow respond time of the N73.

I am stuck without a laptop

On Thursday I was hit by real bad luck that someone spilled hot chocolate on my one and a half year old laptop. Those of you whom have known me would have known that this is not the first time I have liquid spilled on my lappie, as you all know where I work, but the last time it was really minor spilled that can be easily be wiped down.

This time the spill was really horrible, that when the technician came on Friday, he told me that he needed to replace the motherboard along with the touch pad, keyboard and the combo drive. He even advised me not to switch it on because he was afraid that the board would short-circuit. So I will have to wait for all the parts to arrive and let him fix it on Monday. Guess I will be stuck without a laptop at work.

So you all won't be seeing me until Wednesday, I guess but I would be online when I get home.

The good news is I am really lucky that I was the "kiase" type and have bought their Complete Cover so accidental damages are covered.

Been busy with plumbing works

I've been rather busy the past few days, replacing the bursted pipes at my restaurant. There were two places that needed my attention.
First is the water tank, the water pressure have broke thru the sides of the joining PVC parts between the pipe and the elbow. I think the contractor have not used enough PVC Cement on it earlier. So I have to saw off that part and apply new ones.
Second is the stove place (this one is tough work), where I have to replace all the PVC pipes to steel/stainless steel parts (I wonder why the contractor have used PVC in the first place) I think the heat from the cooking stove (which is using high pressured LPG) have got to the water valve and made it stuck. I decided to go for the steel for replacement because water have bursted here before, might as well do it once and make sure that it will last.

I know most of you would ask me why I didn't let a plumber do the work, right?
Well I have let those "so-called" professional plumbers do the work for me and I am now cleaning up their mess :P Yes, this is very true. I am just clearing up the problem from the fix of 2 plumbers whom have claimed to have cleaned up the mess my contractor left me with. If they are that dependable or more responsible then I wouldn't have done it by myself. In fact I think I did a better work than them :P Also those plumbers charges a bomb on their fees too
