I'm back

First of all, I am pleased to announce that this blog site is now going to be back to normal. For those who still frequent my blog, my apologies for my absence for so long. Hopefully I will be back for good this time.

The following are Keith’s development updates:
- Since end of last year, we have managed to wean him off his pacifier.
- Early this year, he has been potty trained and was diaper-less during the day.
- It has been 2 weeks now he has been totally off diapers, even during his sleep.
- He is no longer asking for his late night or early morning milk.
- He is now alright if we leave him in the public play place without having any adults around.
- He is beginning to show signs of socializing with kids.
- We are yet to send him to any nursery/learning school. We plan to do that next year, still deciding Fungates or QDees (Elaine feels that she want to send him to QDees because she saw that they have more cute little girls his age admitted there)
- He is still an Ultraman fanatic, even singing the theme song but I have managed to get him interested in Barney, Pingu and Pokemon. To my surprise, he is able to recite names ,like Pokemon, Pikachu, Meowth, Balbasaur and Onix
- He spends less time in front of the television now and rather cycles his tricycle in the house and going to the playground near my house.
- He is able to sit on the playground swing without any assistance, guidance nor care and he is even swinging by himself.
- He astonished me when he demonstrated so much independence when he steadily climbed the spiral stairs of the playhouse all on his own.
- A few days ago, Keith just got his buttock scratched by the comb of the escalator. I will write that on another post soon.

In the past, I have gotten third party feedbacks that there were some irritated people whom felt that I have been a show-off. Mind you, there is no need for me to do that because this blog is meant to keep track of my son’s development and not a contest. If you feel irritated, please feel free to feedback to me personally or comment. If you won’t then please choose to ignore my blog because I really failed to understand how an update on my son’s development will actually offend anyone.

This is an update on me.
- It is agreed between Elaine and I that we will try our best to be good parents to Keith and we had both forgiven each other for our past. In other words, it is useless for some people whom are trying to break us up again because there is nothing to break now.
o Occasionally she will get strange calls and visit by stranger telling her the “truth” about me. Well, we are both too busy with our lives now and we couldn’t be bothered by all these. A word of advice to the nuisance, the truth will reveal itself eventually; repent before it is too late. The reason why Elaine and I have nothing to fear is because we have both repented and confessed our mistakes and wrongdoings, have you? We were able to forgive each other and ourselves, can you?
- Close to half year ago, I got robbed at knife point, I have lost my waist pouch. Although I got scratched in the face and cut on my wrist, luckily Elaine was unhurt and Keith was not around at that time.

- I am now working in a company affiliated with Italian, Chinese and Taiwanese principals. The job requires me to travel extensively locally and South East Asia, China, Taiwan and Middle East.
- My job has been rather interesting because it involves a lot of technical knowledge in a field less ventured and I have been lucky because I have been able to handle my boss’s “tough” customers well and they even treated me very friendly after getting to know me. Much to my boss’s surprise we even became very good friends.
- Close to 2 months ago, my car was stolen when I went to attend a charity event in Pahang with my colleagues and boss, not only have I lost my personal belongings inside the car, I have also lost my certificates and testimonials. My boss is now providing me with a company car.
- My boss is bringing me to church and FGB meetings. In fact with all the bad luck events happening to me, I am really grateful that he saw those as a challenge and not seeing me as a black sheep.
- Lately I just got a really great job offer, which is offering me almost the same to my salary, minus the un-necessary entertainments so I am deeply considering it. My boss told me he will let me go, if he sees the Offer Letter.

Keith is 17 months

Keith just turned 17 months (1 year and 5 months) yesterday. I am supposed to do a few more posts before this one but my hands has been rather tied up with many happenings in the family and business. This month we have the waitress quiting on us without notice, meaning she left right after payday. So lately have been rather tiring for all of us.

Keith has been becoming more and more adventurous and mischievous too. This picture is taken in 1U TGI Fridays on this Tuesday and I happen to meet up with Shereen and her family too. This is the first time Elaine, Keith and I, as a family meet another family from online, on an outing.

Height - 77cm
Weight -8.75kg

Diet
His milk intake is now about 5-6 bottles of 7oz, he is no long taking his usual porridge anymore but instead he is sharing part grandma's lunch portion and Elaine's or my portion of dinner. We are also ordering the kids order for him when we dine out. Practically eats almost anything except veggies, sourish or spicy stuffs.

Sleep
He will only fall asleep on our bed because it is big enough for him to turn and toss around to find his best and comfortable sleeping position and only after he fall into a slumber sleep, we would move him back into his cot. He dislikes to be left alone in the room or in the dark but funnily on one occasion he was being whiny and wanted to go out so I went out to off all the lights in the house except the night light in our room but he was not afraid of the dark although he just stood there. If others, like Nicole, would already be crying or whining because of the darkness. That is a great improvement compared to the power trip situation last month.

Now he knows how to wiggle/backward crawl himself to get down from the bed!!! Before I was afraid that he would fall of our bed and now he is yet to be able to climb up. It is sure tough to put him to sleep in the afternoon because he keep wanting to go out and a little more noise than average would make him all excited. I guess it made it hard for him to fall asleep thinking that I might go out without him.

Teeth
He now has 16 teeth but they are all so crooked leh.


Verbal
He would be calling me as "apa", his mom as “ama” and my sister as “aka” (supposed to be "ah ku" for paternal aunt. He would now called us to give him food by repeating "umm", and the expression of "ah!" when he wants water..... He rather point with his fingers than verbal.

Mobility
He is beginning to explore everything now and as before when he want to go somewhere further he would turn around to face us when he wants us to carry him. He has the bad habit of picking up things from the floor but good habit because he would walk to the rubbish bin to throw. He like to do the rowing motion, especially when i hold on to both his hands and he also knows how to rock on a rocking horse too. Now he is able to crawl up one step of the stairs but descend is only with someone holding his hand. He also likes to dance his own moves to the tune of the children songs as well as those more funky (bass filled) music too but lately he prefers the short movie clips I have made for him.

Others

• He would try to be cute by slanting his head to his side and look at me whenever I scold him or give him the stern look. But as soon as I am not looking at him, he would be back to the same mischief again, like bullying Grandma.
  
• When there is no one to pick him up from the baby chair, he would turn to those he wouldn't normally prefers carrying him, just as long as the person is not a stranger. He is more picky when he is not in the mood or when he wants to go out.
• He is still unable to board onto another person's car without his mommy and I carrying him. Nobody else can carry him into a car because he would start crying, as soon as he boards the car, until he puked on a few occasions in my sister’s car.
• Developed a liking to shout at a very high pitch, when he is unhappy, not given what he wanted, not carried and he baby babbles a lot too.
  
• He likes to point at things with his index fingers, it is either to where he wanted to go to, something he wanted or when he sees pretty girls. Now he also like to give flying kiss too.
• He is also able to respond very well to "tim choong-choong", "clap-clap hand", "friend kiss" and "habis and occasionally remembers to "gong xi, gong xi". He is not doing less of this because he prefers to shake his body more.
  
• Likes to put his hand into his mommy's shirt and torture her mole on her upper chest or even our earlobes. Sigh! Sometimes it can get really painful because of his repeated torture and he likes to use his fingernails too. This also serves as a warning to those who wanted to carry him, he likes to put his hand into your shirt and grope....

Keith is 16 months

Keith has turned 16 months (1 year and 4 months) four days ago but I have not been able to do this post until now because I am really being tired down with too many burdens to shoulder recently. Sadly he still has his running nose and occasional cough. It is sure tough to give him his medicine but we managed to give him his medicine with minimal fight back despite his reluctance. We have delayed his MMR jab again because I don’t think he will be given since he is still sick.

Despite his skinny size, he is really a big eater. I just wonder where all the food he ate went to….. Perhaps his move around activity and his moves to the rhythm took it all

Diet
His milk intake is now about 5-6 bottles of 5-8oz, in addition to his 2 actual meals of solid but he is no longer interested in his porridge. He is more into out normal food, like rice with sauces or noodles cut to bits. He can even finish half a portion of my dinner of salted egg with steam meat and he can get really eager to share it too.

He always wanted to share our meals with us. He tend to like meat better and don’t quite like veggies. I think he might be cutting down on his early hours feeding (late night feeding) because he is not completing his bottle of milk during his 2 early morning feedings.


Sleep
Lately he will only fall asleep on our bed and would not want to sleep on his cot. He dislikes to be left alone in the room or in the dark. On one occasion the power got tripped and he squatted down on the floor and started whining for us. When he sleeps in his cot, he would sometimes cry out and would only fall back to sleep after Elaine or I pat him and let him know that we are there by his side. To my surprise, without any accidents so far (knock on wood!), he is able to get down from the bed by himself!!!! And I was afraid that he would fall of our bed. Lately it is getting harder to make him sleep in the afternoon in our restaurant because he keep wanting to go out and because of our staffing problem, I have not been able to take him out as often. I guess it made it hard for him to fall asleep because he is afraid that I will go out without him. I think I have not been a very good daddy lately too.

Teeth
He now has 12 teeth and 2 of his upper molars had already appeared on his gum. He really gave me the scare by teething so early. Funny thing is many parents were so disappointed that their toddlers were teething late.


Verbal
He would be calling me as "papa" "apa" "da" and even "dada". Funnily he seems to dislike calling "mama" or “ama” but he would if we tempt him with his favourite chocolate pudding or when he is in his talking mood, normally in the morning. He would just ignore us when we repeatedly say "mama" in front of him without any response from him or he would say “ka” or “aka”. He would spit out his pacifier and begin to call out "umm", "umm-mum or mumm-mumm" when he sees us taking food. He would even say "ah!" when he wants water..... Guess because I kept playfully gave him the expression of "ah!" after he takes his water, in hoping to encourage him to drink more water since he is now taking powdered milk. Whenever anyone tried to make him say some words which he is unable to utter, like "ku" - (paternal aunt) for my sister "grandma" or "mama", he would keep saying "da" or "dada" in return. I wonder if this "da" and "dada" is for me or everyone! He calls my sister “ka” and “aka” too.
Although he is yet to greet people close to him, he is able to point to the person when we ask him where the person is.

Mobility
He is beginning to walk on his own more steadily now and he would turn around to face us when he wants us to carry him. Sometimes he would put both his hands in mine or would be pointing at me (with his index finger) and call out to me, sort of telling me to carry him. He seems to have the habit of picking up things from the floor and walk to the rubbish bin to throw. He is also able to sit down more properly now, when we tell him to sit especially if it is for food! He also knows how to rock on a rocking horse too but he is still afraid of stairs. He also likes to dance his own moves to the tune of the children songs as well as those more funky (bass filled) music too :P

Keith is 15 Months

Today Keith is 15 months (1 year and 3 months). The good news is this time he is not bothered with sickness, which Elaine and I are rather happy about. In fact we have started to give him an occasional dose of liquid multivitamins, which he has been reluctant to take. We are yet to take him for his jab this month because he is due for his appointment on this Tuesday and probably would be his MMR jab.

What I can say is Keith has begin to show his stubbornness, if he wants something and he would surely throw tantrum and start to cry/shout at a very high pitch which I hope he is not training to be a soprano to get what he wants!!!!

Diet
His milk intake is now about 5-6 bottles of 7oz, in addition to his 2 actual meals of solid, which is normally porridge. I would try to mash up/grind a small portion of my meal for him because most of the time whenever we adults take our meal he would be salivating to share with us. He seems to prefer meat better. Due to the rumour that Enfagrow would be maintaining their current price but will be downsizing the refill packs from 700g to 650g (According to the Chinese Medicine Shop that we buy from occasionally), we had to let Keith try the Honey Flavoured ones because they ran out of the Original. Surprisingly, Keith seems to like the Honey ones better because he tends to finish the whole bottle now.

Sleep
He is able to sleep through the night in his cot but lately he kept whining to come over to sleep with us, he see=ms to dislike to be left alone in the room. When he sleeps in his cot, he would sometimes cry out and would only fall back to sleep after Elaine or I pat him and let him know that we are there by his side.
On Tuesday, he gave us a shock. In the evening Elaine put him to sleep on our bed after that she joined me to watch TV in the living. After a few minutes, I heard a thud sound and as I turned around I saw Keith walking out of our room towards us already!!!! Till today we could not really figure out how he actually got down from our bed and if he really manage to come down correctly because he did not cry at all. We have actually to check for bruise and gently squeeze his hands and legs to see if he is hurt but there was no reaction at all..... I guess he was very lucky and found the right way down that time.

Teeth

Impatient Keith

We realize that Keith has begin to show interest in many things but he could never do one thing for a long period. He would normally be doing something that interest him for a very short while only then turn his attention elsewhere.

Recently he has been starting to watch cartoon as well. He is all into those action ones whenever they go into the conversation part he would start to turn his attention to the remote control or would try to get out of the chair. Else he would be pointing at snacks, which is sure to make him sit for a much more longer period.

Whenever we sit him in the shopping cart, we have to give him something to gain his attention. If not he is sure won't want to sit in it. Normally I would carry him and push the cart at the same time until I enter the supermarket and get some him some toys or candy so that I can sit him on the cart. I would be lucky if there are promoters handing out sample food because he is sure to like to try them but he would make a mess of himself.

He had never liked any sample drinks that has been handed out. This would get him busy for a while, normally until I get to the check out where he would be struggling again. Luckily for now he seems to be mesmerized by plastic cards too. He fancy those membership cards as well as credit cards too.

He also likes to point at teddy bears but whenever we give it to him, he would almost immediately throw it to the floor and he would be pointing at another bear. He seems to also have a habit of throwing things to the floor too.

His impatience in concentrating even goes to those RM1 token rides in shopping complexes. Whenever we go to shopping complex he would only point to those bigger rides but the good thing is he never really sit in for too long so it is very rare that we have to slot in coins.

Keith is 14 Months

Today Keith is 14 months (1 year and 2 months) but the sad thing is he was bothered with running nose and cough. This morning he woke up at about 5am because he could not sleep well when he coughing so bad. Funny thing is he had comically hit his own chest showing us how bad it was. After sending mommy to work, Grandma and I took him to the hospital to see the paed. When we were in the waiting for his turn he was practically roaming around the clinic.

But he is still as active and as KPC as usual


Statistics

Diet
His milk intake is still the same at 5.5-6oz of BM supplemented with 1-2 bottle of Enfagrow, in addition to his 2 meals of solid. Sometimes I have to mash up his solid food for him, other times he is ok like with a whole chicken drumlet.
He dislike things that are too hard and too soft but somehow he has a liking for what mommy and I have for our meal.

Sleep
He is able to sleep through the night in his cot but he would still have his early morning milk in his cot. He would tend to sleep close to our bed and we have taken one side off his cot and have it against our bed so that he would feel like he is sleeping with us.. Every morning when he gets up he would crawl to our bed, over his mommy, to be with us.

Teeth
He still has 8 teeth I am beginning to see the top of the all his cuspid showing already as 4 white spots and 2 of his lower molars are beginning to show its shape too.

Verbal
He would be calling out "papa" "apa" but he is still unable to address me yet because he would be calling out of the blue. He seems to like to call out "papa" more than "mama". He is able to call out "umm!" & "mum, mumm" for food when he wanted some of our food.

Mobility
He is beginning to walk on his own more steadily now but occasionally he would preferred to hold onto us. Sometimes he would put both his hands in mine and call out to me, signalling me to carry him. He has also developed a very bad habit, picking up things from the floor. Sometimes he would even squat down to poke into the holes in my Crocs shoes.

Others

• For now I am on top of his preference list of person to carry him, then comes Mummy, PoPo, Jiu-Jiu (Uncle Jason), Grandma. Nowadays he kept wanting me to carry him all the time, he would even climb onto me when I am really busy.

• Other than his mommy and I, nobody else can carry him into a car, he would be wailing as soon as the person board the car.

The beginning of his Adventure

Keith is really beginning to tax Elaine and I of our energy. Since he has began walking on his own, he has began his exploring adventure. We have to always keep an eyes on him because he has always been wanting to get down to the floor and walk around. He also likes to pick up things(dirt) off the floor, opening the drawers and throwing the content(shirts) onto the floor and even moving and poking at the wheels on his strollers.

He also has a habit of poking into the holes, like in the picture below he is fascinated with the holes on my Crocs.


Taking the plate and spoon by himself from the waitress shelf and started knocking them..... very noisy!!!!


He even pakat with Yong Jin to sabotage the TV inside their privacy room in a Japanese Restaurant where we had dinner last evening.

He became a Scardy Cat now

We just did not know what had happened but Keith had became very scared whenever we tried to let him walk on his own. He would either squat down or just stand there and do what we had taught him to do, ie. dancing, clap hands or "tim choong choong".


If that fails to impress us or get our attention, he would normally be crying out loudly but sometimes he would move to something near to him for support and starting to walk towards the person and then

He would either pester you with a smile (trying to be cute) or show you his pitiful "pick-me-up" look !!!


What we would do now is to try to leave him at a nearer distance because he would not inch a bit if we leave him too far like before. He would struggle to move at a distance but when he is close to the person he would walk with ease because he knew that he is within our reach if he is to fall. Sigh! He is quite a Scardy Cat.

Keith is 13 Months

Today Keith is 13 months and last year today we were supposed to be celebrating his full-moon. This month has been rather tensed for us because this month he has been sick for about 2 weeks.

Although he is able to walk he still prefers to reach out for something to hold on to while walking

Height - 76cm

Diet
His milk intake is still the same at 5.5-6oz of BM in addition to his 2 meals of solid. Since he is sick we put him fully on EBM but problem is it is occasionally not sufficient enough for him so we fit in 1 feeding of powdered milk.
He dislike things that are too hard and too soft but somehow he has a liking for rice, noodles, sunflower seeds and peeled raisins.

Sleep
He is able to sleep through the night in his cot and he would sleep over to our bed too. I have taken off on of the sides of his cot and put his cot against our bed so that he would feel more secured. Problem is when he gets up in the morning he would crawl over to our bed to be with us. Normally when he sees me, he even stepped on his mommy to get to my side or in between us.

Teeth
He still has 8 teeth I am beginning to see the top of the 2 bottom cuspid showing already as 2 white spots. We are thinking that it will be 4 canine teeth cuspid and possibly 2 molars too.

Verbal
He would be calling out "papa" "apa" but he is still unable to address me yet because he would be calling out of the blue. He seems to like to call out "papa" more than "mama". He is able to call out "umm!" & "mum, mumm" for food when he wanted some of our food.

Keith is starting to walk on his own

I know it is kind of late for his latest development. He had been able to walk on his own for quite a while but he would keep falling down because of his instability after 2-3 steps and he has been very afraid when we let him try to walk on his own without support. He used to make sure that we hold onto both his hands before he would walk then it became a one hand support. He would just stand there if we let go of his hands.


Only very recently he is beginning to walk on his own, with the pictures and video taken on the 15 March. He is still learning to sit down when he is tired. We really wonders why sometimes he would cry out when he landed a little to hard on his bum, since he is wearing diapers. Problem is he keep wanting to go to the ground now and sometimes he would be trying to pick things from the floor too.

Keith is 1 year old

Well, like what slavemom commented on my previous post, Keith has finally entered toddlerhood. Despite her forgetfulness and clumsiness, Elaine has been a very wonderful mom because she have been sacrificing a lot of her time in expressing BM for Keith for a whole year already now.

Although we have celebrated Keith's birthday earlier, Grandma insisted in buying a small cake for him for the actual day itself. Sad thing is he vomited when my sis fed him a very small portion. (The M&M Shirt is from Elaine's uncle)

(I am yet to take him for his MMR jab because it is due after)

Diet
His milk intake is still the same at 5.5-6oz of BM in addition to his 2 meals of solid.
He wanted to take whatever we are eating. I have observed that he likes to eat spaghetti and rice, especially fried rice. He has developed a liking to drink from our cups too.

Sleep
He is able to sleep through the night in his cot. On occasional nights he would be crying in the wee hours in the morning and wanted to be carried by me or watch his favourite Musical CD, I am guessing that it is his phlegm that is causing him to be uneasy.

Teeth
He still has 8 teeth but Grandma and Elaine told me that they are observing some white spots on his gums. We'll have to keep an eye out soon because I guess it will be 4 canine teeth cuspid this time and possibly some molars too.

Verbal
He would be calling out "papa" "apa" but he is still unable to address me yet because he would be calling out of the blue. He seems to like to call out "papa" more than "mama". Sometimes he would call Elaine as "papa" and me as "mama". He is able to call out "umm!" for food when he wanted some of our food.

Mobility
He is able to stand on his own much longer now but he will be frantically be searching for our hands when he is unstable. Despite the fact that he is able to walk a few steps on his own, I guess he is still scared from his previous fall.

Others

• He still likes to hold onto my ear lobes with his left hand and sometimes poke the end with his right index finger and it really hurts because he kept doing it repeatedly.
  
• For now I am on top of his preference list of person to carry him, then comes Mummy, PoPo, Jiu-Jiu (Uncle Jason). But the maid would gain the top preference when he is hungry and wanted his milk.
• Developed a liking to shout, when he is unhappy, not given what he wanted, not carried or when I switch on the blender!
  
• He likes to point at things with his index fingers, especially at pretty girls. Yes, he likes to look and stare at pretty girls. When he is in the mood to let a stranger carry him, he would always choose the prettier one!!!!!
  
• He is also able to respond very well to "tim choong-choong", "clap-clap hand", "friend kiss" and "habis"

Keith is 11 months old

I have not been updating my blog as often recently and I actually scratched my head for a post then a look at the calender I realised that today Keith is 11 months old. Wow, now I have to really look into ordering his birthday cake, which I have been doing for the last few months but was not able to decide upon which one.

This was taken when I took him out to a hypermarket nearby our restaurant.

(We missed his last appointment and we have decided to take him to see the doctor when he is due for his next jab.

Diet
His milk intake is still the same at 5.5-6oz of BM in addition to his 2 meals of solid. Mummy's worry is her expressed milk is getting less by the day.
Right now he is practically eating everything except eggs, banana and spicy stuffs (I guess this will be the last month that we will observe what Grandma advised us not to give him until he is one) His favourite is whatever we are having for our meal.

Sleep
He has been sleeping with us for almost a months now. The good news is he is able to sleep through the night in his cot. Yesterday was so funny that I found him sleeping reversed from when we initially have him sleep, with his legs on his pillow sleeping. Once in a while he will whine for attention and take a peek to see if anyone is attending to him or whenever we move him to a better sleeping position.

Teeth
He still has 8 teeth and would gnaw and lick on almost everything you give him, especially human fingers!!! I have been guessing that he is probably teething again but I fail to detect any newer teeth.

Verbal
He still "baby babble sing" as he is about to fall asleep. He is able to say "mama" "ama" "papa" "apa" more clearly but to date he is still unable to address me or Elaine. As for food he is able to say "umm!"

Mobility
He is crawling unsteadily, probably we do not give him enough time on his own to crawl. He is able to stand on his own for minutes now and he even pushes our hands away to let him stand on his own. He is even able to clap his hands while standing up. Today Aunt May tried to let him walk on his own, when Grandma informed us all that he is able to walk with a little assistance. They tried to let him walk with both hands behind him to catch him just as he is unsteady. Sadly Aunt May was only successful for the first few times. Upon seeing that Elaine told her to move him to a wider space so that she can record it down, on the first try she failed to catch Keith and he fell for the first time.

Others

• For some reason he likes us to let him stand unassisted and sing "Happy Birthday" for him while he claps his hand.
• He likes to hold onto my ear lobes with his left hand and sometimes poke the end with his right index finger. (my sis have had the same habit when she was small and then it was Grandma's ear she held onto)
  
• For now I am on top of his preference list of person to carry him, then comes Mummy, PoPo, Jiu-Jiu (Uncle Jason). He also tends to prefer someone who stands up than someone whom is sitting down.
  
• He likes to point at things with his index fingers.
• He is also able to respond very well to "tim choong-choong" and "clap-clap hand"
  
• I do realise that he is extremely ticklish.
  

Keith is 10 months old

Today Keith is 10 months old and

This picture is taken while he is busy playing with his anklet. We have had 2 anklet for him because these anklets are especially helpful in telling us that he has waken. The anklet is filled with some the small bells which will sound upon movement. It will also be a great thing to have when baby is starting to walk. The bells will tell you where they are too.

(We missed his last appointment and since tomorrow is Christmas and the following Tuesday in New Year, I guess we'll have to wait till next month for his check-up.

Diet
His milk intake is still the same at 5.5-6oz of BM in addition to his 3 meals of solid but recently with him following us to work his intake frequency has lessen.
Right now he is practically eating everything except banana and eggs (which Grandma told us not to give him until he is one) His favourite is tofu.

Sleep
We have got him to sleep without the spring cot and he is either sleeping on the adult bed or the cot. The funny thing is he will sleep as though he have the whole adult bed to himself, by moving practically everywhere in the bed, even in the cot. Once in a while he will whine for attention and take a peek to see if anyone is attending to him.

Teeth
He still has 8 teeth and would gnaw and lick on almost everything you give him, especially human fingers!!! but I am guessing that he is probably teething again because he couldn't sleep well at night and his body felt warm too.

He still "baby babble sing" as he is about to fall asleep. He is beginning to say "mama" "ama" "papa" "apa" more clearly but only when he is whining :(

Mobility
Still the turning around when lying on the bed or sofa. He is beginning to show the signs to crawl and when he gets really excited when we hold his hands for us carry him (lazy) but we are letting him start to walk by himself with us holding on to his arms/hands. We have even bought him his first pair of shoes.

**Update**
When I got home I laid Keith on the bed and he kept trying to snatch our letters as Elaine and I were busy going thru our mails. He kept moving to the edge of our bed so we decided to try it out to see..... true enough.... he is starting crawling already and rather steadily too.

Others

• He have this attitude where new things would only keep him busy for less than half an hour.
• He is now much more better with whoever is carrying him, sometimes even strangers, but this also marks the beginning of the passing game until he is passed back to me.
• For some reason I dunno why, he likes the parking meter in front of the shop.
  
• He would get really excited as I walk him to the pet shop nearby and everyday he seems to have a different preference for a different dog.
  

Dangerous Mouth

Keith have always had this sudden urge to bite on something every now and then. Elaine was rather shock to see how many red marks Keith have left on my hands. Whenever I sit him on my lap to play toys with him he would gladly play with me and out of the sudden he would pull my hand, arm or even finger and happily sink his teeth in them and I tell you he really bite on very hard, it is so hard that it will really bruise you if you were to pull it out. Worse is sometimes he would grind his teeth on your flesh or even the one whom pull it out without letting go of the chomp!
This is how ugly things have gotten last night.


After his bite, the marks would turn red and as I am writing this post, 13 hours later, the red marks are still on my hands

He would put everything he can get his hands on into his mouth. The problem is he doesn't really have a favourite toy because he is very like his mum, easily get bored with something that is already his. He always want new things, especially things that we would not allow him to have, like our handphones.

We were rather worried because there was a very big gap between two of his upper front teeth, until we were told that the gap would not be as obvious when he gets older, perhap at 3 years old. Actually the gap really does seems to be closer now :P

Dangerous Stunts

Since Elaine and I were taking care of Keith we managed to capture some of his recent dangerous stunts:

Catching the foam blade of the fan (He is also easily mesmerized with a turning ceiling or wall fan)


Beginning to stand up on the cot on his own and start to rummage thru mummy's table (Whenever he cries for attention, the sound of his mum drying her hair with the hair blower never fail to distract him)


He has always been very fond of mirrors.

Keith is 9 months old

Early this morning Elaine had to remind me that Keith is 9 months old today but funny thing is she dare not tell it to me verbally while I was carrying Keith. She had to use both her hands and showed me nine while telling me, "Your son is..... today." How superstitious, huh? So I guess there is another quarter to go for his first year!

So far he would take all that we have fed him with (Fish, Carrot, Potato, Tofu, Sweet Potato, Porridge and Rice Cereal) Whenever he sees us adults eating he would even call out for us to give him some. The funny thing is he is acts as though he is eating when we feed him an empty spoon!!!!! I guess he likes the process :P

Sleep
Recently he is less likely to wake up during the night to go out because I guess he is tired out with so many people carrying him around in the restaurant during the day. Even when he is really tired he would not settle down to sleep until we got out of the house with him, only then will he sleep on our chest or the stroller

Teeth
He now has 8 teeth and would gnaw and lick on almost everything you give him, especially human fingers!!! He would even lick the floor when we position him to crawl :P

Others

• Likes to observe other older kids around him.
  
• Once grandma jokingly became stern with him, he ignored her for almost the whole day, until she tempted him with some cracker!!!!.
• He is now much more better with whoever is carrying him, sometimes even strangers.
• When we carry him, it has become more like a passing around game because he is so indecisive whom he really want.
  
• I guess he missed the pool. He kept pushing me to walk towards the pool when I took him out for a walk
  

Keith doesn't wanna crawl

Keith is getting rather whiny recently. He would be crying and screaming whenever we put him lying down. He also don't like to crawl either even when we tried to position him to crawl. He would rather stand up or walk with us holding both his hands. Not so easy to entertain this demanding and noisy boy, I guess he learns that from Nicole :P



Now he is really a runner on the walker!!! Yes, he pushes himself around rather fast and he likes to grab everything then throw it to the floor. Nowadays whenever he sees me or Elaine he would whine and cry a bit to see if we are going to pick him up, if there is no response he would move away and continue on with whatever he is scavenging!!! Look at the bottom 2 pics, he can still rummage through the plastic bag while standing on his own!!!

Keith is 8 months old

I realise that it was the 24th late in the evening and Keith was 8 months old yesterday. In fact the older he is getting the more I felt I needed to take more pictures because I always have the feeling that I don't wanna miss out on a single moment, since Elaine and I have to put about 13-14 hours a day to work and we only have a day off weekly. Right now it is already so tough for us to juggle our family time between family members.

Funny part is he would wrinkle his forehead whenever we give him something new!!! And shakes his head if he dislikes them, be it not to his taste or too hot.

Starting to wake up past midnight, knowing that is the time we reach home, he will cry and whine for us to carry him initially and then keep leaning towards the door for us to take him out for a walk or a short drive (which is not good) He would even start crying if we keep sitting or lay him down

He now has 7 teeth and would gnaw on almost everything you give him, especially human fingers!!!

Verbal
Whenever we hear him "baby babble sing" means he is about to fall asleep

Mobility
Still the turning around when lying on the bed or sofa. He is still unable to crawl and he is learning to sit but still need to work on balancing his weight.

Others

• Turning away from someone he doesn't want to carry him.
• When I pass him to grandma, he would want her if she is sitting down.
• If I am dressed, he wouldn't want grandma if she has not changed her house dress.
• Once we are out of the house, he is ok with anyone, other than strangers.
• Recently he is not as "sticky" with me and he is getting ok with his mum.
  
• He used to be uncomfortable during his rides in the car but now he loved them a lot. I am still looking for those collapsible/stick on sunshades for my side windows.
• Very impatient, especially when he think we are going "kai-kai"
• Still loves his daily bath!
• He loves Nicole. She makes him smile easily and he doesn't even make a fuss when she accidentally bumped him at times.
  

Keith is 7 months old

Well today marks the day he was born 7 months ago. Indeed he have developed his own patterns and style within this time.

He likes to

• command people with his screams and shout, which will either subsides if no one is around or will becomes his cries if he is not carried.
• would act as a remote when you pick him up. He would face a particular direction if he wanted you to move in that direction. He would lean forward if you do not move and would laugh when you do.
• smiles at you, especially when you are scolding him :P
• play with Nicole, a small and simple gesture of hers is enough to make him smile and laugh.
• look at cars moving on the streets, he seems rather interested in cars.
• to turn round and round on the bed.
• to grab everything and for now he is especially interested in the camera.
• to take pictures, rather co-operative when I am taking his pictures, unless when he is in a really bad mood!
• to do acrobatic acts, by licking and biting on his toes.
  

He is beginning to

• move (swimming like motion) when he turned around. He is yet unable to crawl la but I guess if this goes on he will very soon.
• demand things and command things to be done his way.
  
• have 4 teeth but the 2 top ones are rather out of place (He already have 2 bottom central incisor but the funny thing is his top 2 are his left central incisor and his left lateral incisor, instead of 2 central incisor!!!)

He dislikes

• being scolded, even when an adult, close to him, is scolding another child and not him! I guess he felt threatened.
• being left alone in a room.
• putting him down on the bed, unless you play with him or let him play with your fingers. (Given the opportunity he will bite on them of course)
  

I can't really finish this up but I guess I have pretty much said what I have observed so far.
